Two MassMutual Senior Executives Earn Promotions |

October 9, 2003 marked the promotion of two of MassMutual Financial Group’s senior executives. Andrew Oleksiw was named to the position of executive vice president at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual). He will head the company’s International Insurance, Large Corporate Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions fuctions.
Robert J. O’Connell, MassMutual’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer describes these two key gentlemen as “…results-driven executives who demonstrate extraordinary leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to innovate.” He added, “these are the kinds of leaders who are positioning the MassMutual Financial Group for future success.”
After spending 16 years in the financial services industry, Mr. Oleksiw joined MassMutual in 1999 as Senior Vice President in charge of international operations. He is also the President and CEO of MassMutual International, Inc. Mr. Oleksiw received his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University. From there he pursued and obtained an MIA in International Banking and Finance at Columbia University. Subsequent to his graduation from Columbia, Mr. Oleksiw served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He received his honorable discharge as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1997. He resides in Farmington, Conn.
Mr. Slodden’s has held several executive level positions with MassMutual. Prior to his promotion to executive vice president, Mr. Slodden served as President of MassMutual’s Financial Products Division, which was newly formed in 2000. In addition, he also served as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets and Treasury Operations since 1999.
Mr. Slodden holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Following his graduation, he too served the United States Military as a member of the U.S. Air Force. During the four years that he served he became a Captain. He then earned a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Slodden resides in Sudbury, Mass.
