Someone had to be first.  In this case, it was Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company.

Amerisure has jumped on board with ISO Insurance Technology Solutions (ISO-ITS) by becoming the first company to fully integrate the ISO Rating Service® into its policy administration system.

Amerisure is using the ISO Rating Service, an automated insurer rate-management system, for commercial auto in all ISO-supported states to process quotes and policies and handle endorsement and renewal transactions. Through its rating engine and insurer-controlled rate-management decision tools, the rating service provides insurers with advisory information and ISO updates.

“We’re looking forward to using ISO Rating Service to help streamline our rate/quote and service processes, enhance our rate-maintenance workflows, and improve performance,” said Debbie Szmagaj, vice president of Application Services at Amerisure. She cited other benefits from implementing the service such as a shortened turnaround time on rate revisions and faster product-implementation time frames.

Amerisure won’t limit the use of the ISO Rating Service to just commercial auto. Szmagaj said that the insurer plans to implement general liability in all states by the middle of next year, and add inland marine and crime in late 2008. In addition, commercial property will follow in early 2009.

“By implementing ISO Rating Service, Amerisure will be able to reduce the expense and effort associated with administering disparate processes and resources, establish a market-responsive environment, increase sales and service productivity, and improve the competitive advantage of its products among distributors and policyholders,” said John Joly, chief operating officer for ISO Insurance Technology Solutions.
