Allstate Web Site Adds Two Pricing Tools to Assist Auto Insurance Shoppers
Somewhere there’s a happy medium between overpaying for auto insurance yet having sufficient coverage.
Allstate wants to help customers find that balance and has made the search easier by adding two tools to the auto insurance portion of its Web site.
The first tool, Bumper-to-Bumper BasicsSM, is an interactive guide that helps consumers identify their personal risk profile, based on the state in which they live, by asking a series of questions, such as the age and purchase price of the car, whether or not they have health insurance, and if they own or rent their home. The tool then generates a list of policy coverages to give users a clear idea of their potential personal protection needs.
Bumper-to-Bumper Basics also defines insurance terms and provides examples to help consumers understand fundamental concepts, such as the difference between comprehensive and collision coverage, how to be financially protected from a covered accident caused by an uninsured motorist, and what bodily injury liability is compared with personal injury protection.
The second tool, Ballpark Estimator, allows users to quickly obtain an estimated auto insurance quote from Allstate without providing any personal information.
“It is easy to save money on auto insurance, but is the coverage you bought enough? To help consumers answer this important question, Allstate created an online tool that identifies on a state-specific, individual basis, potential policy coverages and limits,” said Peggy Dyer, Allstate’s vice president for Marketing Growth and Development. “Consumers who put together a coverage checklist before shopping ensure they are getting ‘apples-to-apples’ quotes and covering their bases.”
