WellPoint, Inc., is looking for at least one new partner.
The health benefits company is accepting applications for its inaugural Consumer Innovation Event, sponsored by WellPoint’s Consumer Innovation Group. Attendees at the March event will have the opportunity to present to WellPoint corporate leader ideas and programs that offer tangible benefits to consumers.
Chad Pomeroy, vice president of WellPoint’s Consumer Innovation Group, explained that the event is in sync with where the industry is heading.
“The health benefits industry is moving toward consumer-focused products and processes,” Pomeroy said. “As the nation’s largest health benefits company, we are committed to being the leader in the development of innovative products and services to help members in WellPoint’s health plans manage their health while reining in health care costs and reducing the complexity of the health care system.”
WellPoint is specifically looking for ideas and approaches that address:
- Consumer education and engagement
- Improving the efficiency of health care delivery and administration
- Payer, provider, and consumer relationships
Pomeroy said that through the event, WellPoint wants to identify at least one organization as a potential partner for an in-market pilot program.
Parties interested in participating at the Consumer Innovation Event need to complete and submit an application, available through the company’s Web site. All applications will be screened and the top submissions will receive an invitation to attend the event. Event invitees will have 30 minutes to present, followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session.
