The company that claims the most document automation clients within the insurance industry has earned top recognition from Celent, an independent analyst firm. Celent issued a report, Document Automation Solution Vendors for Insurers 2007, that summarizes its study of 11 software vendors, ranking them according to Celent's "ABCD" requirements:
  • Advanced technology and technical flexibility
  • Breadth of functionality
  • Customer base
  • Depth of client services
Skywire Software led or scored highly in all four categories. Its two leading document automation suites, Documaker and IStream, ranked among the highest in breadth of functionality of all the products Celent examined.

Skywire, with its more than 1,400 insurance customers worldwide, leads the industry in the document automation field. Documaker has the largest installed customer base, with more than 1,000 insurers in North America, while IStream serves leading group life and health insurers.

The report's author, senior analyst Jeff Goldberg, says there's good reason why Documaker is the most widely used document automation tool: "it has a long history, a complete set of functionality, a stable product, and supports almost any infrastructure."

Goldberg added, "Insurers should rest assured that this is a modern system that will fit into their technology roadmaps."

Skywire was one of just two vendors that ranked in the top quartile for depth of client services. Of the 350 employees who develop, implement, and support the company's document automation products, more than 50 percent are dedicated to professional services and support. Skywire's employees average eight years of industry experience.

The report also pointed out IStream's strength in personalizing complex documents using Microsoft Word, a key reason why it is popular with group life and health carriers. The report stated that IStream is "ideal for clients who are dealing with contracts or other documents that, once generated from a template, will go through multiple rounds of alterations."

Wendy Gibson, chief marketing officer at Skywire, said the Celent report validates Skywire's leading position within the insurance industry.

"It also further demonstrates our commitment to focusing squarely on the needs of insurers. We are proud to be recognized as a top document automation provider for the industry," Gibson added.
