Nonsmokers can now get a premium price break from John Hancock Life Insurance.
The carrier has added a Standard Plus Nonsmoker risk class to its Protection SUL-G and Performance UL policies. Thus, healthier clients who previously may have been classified as Standard Nonsmoker risks may now qualify for the new Standard Plus risk class-at much lower premiums.
Steve Finch, president of John Hancock Life, said they expect that "a very significant number" of Standard Nonsmoker applicants may qualify and sign up for the new Standard Plus risk class.
The Protection SUL-G and Performance UL policies, both top sellers for John Hancock over the last few years, offer competitive premiums and a full complement of riders that allow agents to customize the product to a client's specific needs.
Protection SUL-G is geared for clients whose primary concern is guaranteed death benefit coverage. The product provides guaranteed survivorship universal life insurance at issue beginning at age 50. Clients may choose the duration of their death benefit guarantee period, whether for a lifetime or shorter. They also may choose to single pay, pay all years, or pay any period in between.
Performance UL is designed for clients who need a low-cost, permanent life insurance that offers competitive premiums to clients who are 50 or older. Clients also may choose from features and riders that address estate planning and business insurance needs.
