Examination Management Services, Inc. (EMSI) won't say it's cutting out
the middle man, but its newest product is helping consumers and
carriers bypass insurance agents.
The company has introduced U-Direct, designed for direct marketing channels that sell life insurance through the Internet.
"U-Direct is our answer to the life insurance direct marketing industry's request to design a solution that bridges the gap between the applicant and the carrier to augment the traditional agent role," said John Reynolds, EMSI's vice president, Brokerage Services and Distribution. "U-Direct offers fast, flexible, and convenient application fulfillment,
comprehensive requirement ordering, and accurate results delivery for the best possible placement ratios."
U-Direct simplifies and speeds up the application fulfillment process by providing direct marketers with flexible, tailored options for application delivery and integrating them with requirements-gathering them into a single process. Whether clients prefer to upload applications to EMSI's Web site, integrate fulfillment through EMSI's lab partner (Clinical Reference Laboratory-CRL), or fulfill applications through EMSI's Premier Solutions tele-interviewing service, every case receives reliable, complete case management and fast delivery.
As part of the process, EMSI monitors the exam, delivers the application for signatures, and reviews it for completeness and accuracy to ensure applications arrive in carriers' hands in good order for the best possible return rates. Clients can further cut cycle time with U-Direct by express ordering attending physician statements (APSs) and other requirements upfront during application fulfillment through EMSI's Web site or through an electronic data connection.
EMSI also offers a value-added service through its partnership with CRL. After all materials (signed application, specimens, lab slip, and examination results) have been submitted to CRL for scanning, EMSI will perform a quality review of all documents through its centralized QA department to ensure the data is complete, legible, and accurate for carriers. This innovative process ensures the application is as correct as possible while also getting it to the insurance company faster for underwriting purposes.
