An annual public survey has named Aflac the winner of the Global Pulse
2008 Best Reputation award in the U.S. Insurance Industry. The survey,
conducted by the Reputation Institute, appraises over 1000 of the
world’s biggest companies from 27 countries (ten of which were other
insurance companies). Aflac was also ranked 39th in the category of
Most Respected Company from the 150 U. S. based companies included in
the survey. The survey weighs public opinion with regard to how much
companies are trusted, admired, and the overall sense of well being the
company produces.
Daniel P. Amos, Aflac chairman and CEO, expressed his pride in the achievement by stating, "We are honored to be recognized by the Reputation Institute as a top respected company. Our devoted employees are committed to treating people with respect and dignity and make it possible for Aflac to be a most respected company, so I am proud to accept this award on their behalf."
Anthony Johndrow, managing director at Reputation Institute, complemented Aflac on their accomplishment. "Aflac's strong reputation indicates that it has been able to effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding the seven dimension of reputation: Products/Services, Innovation, Workplace, Citizenship, Governance, Leadership and Performance. We are happy to congratulate them for their achievement in the industry."
Aflac‘s previous achievements include listings by Fortune magazine as one of America's Most Admired Companies, 100 Best Companies to Work For in America, and Top 50 Employers for Minorities. Working Mother magazine has listed Aflac as one of the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers.
