country, New Hampshire-based Peerless Insurance is warning its
customers in the northeast to take precautions for the possibility of
natural disasters too.

Should a natural disaster strike, about one in two Americans aren’t
prepared to deal with potential losses from an insurance point of view,
according to research by the New Hampshire Insurance Department and the
National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

Combined net assets of U.S. variable annuities decreased 6 percent
during the first fiscal quarter, but they are still higher than a year
ago.
These statistics come from Virginia-based NAVA, the Association for
Insured Retirement Solutions, which recently released first quarter
results for the VA industry obtained from Morningstar, Inc.
