Atlanta based Cypress Care, a full service worker’s compensation Pharmacy Benefits Manager, recently announced the appointment of Randy Beckham as Vice President, Sales and Michael S Hernandez, Senior Vice President of Business Development.
 

Health Net, Inc. Sells Subsidiaries to First Health Group Corp.

On October 31st, Health Net, Inc. announced that the sale of its workers' compensation services subsidiary, Health Net Employer Services, is complete. The company also sold its subsidiaries Health Net Plus Managed Care Services, Inc. and Health Net CompAmerica, Inc., to First Health Group Corp. The deal was for $80 million in cash and was subject to certain closing adjustments.
 

U.S. and Canadian Life Insurers Urge Level Playing Field in Japan

The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) and the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) released a joint statement urging the government of Japan to deny a request for approval of a new product to be issued by Japan’s postal insurance service giant, Kampo.
 

Harris Interactive Poll Shows Majority Opinions on Employer-Provided Benefits

A survey conducted by Harris Interactive for the Wall Street Journal Online’s Health Industry Edition has shown that the majority of those provided with health benefits by their employer say that a significant reduction in benefits is worse than not receiving a pay increase, among other findings.
 

State Farm® Increases South Dakota Auto Insurance Rates

Effective November 15th, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, the larger auto insurer in South Dakota and the nation, will raise its overall rate level in that state an average of 4.0 percent.
